Job Description



  • Responsible for daily supervision, organization and training of golf course maintenance labor
  • Implements golf course maintenance plan as determined by the Director of Maintenance
  • Promotes the Fort McDowell philosophy of excellence that has established We-Ko-Pa Golf Club as a premier resort facility 
  • Maintains an open communication with the General Manager and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation
  • Responsible for daily inspections of the golf course grounds
  • Projects a professional image at all times
  • Responsible for management of the irrigation system including repairs, adjustments and scheduling
  • Maintains up-to-date, accurate records of all Fertilizer and Pesticide applications
  • Responsible for hiring new staff members
  • Responsible for employee performance evaluations and discipline
  • Coordinates work scheduling/job task assignments with the other members of the golf course maintenance management staff to make the most efficient use of labor resources as a team effort
  • Adjusts the work assignments as needed to take care of any details before golfers play through
  • Must have completed a 2 or 4 year program in turf management or related field
  • Must have at least two years of labor management experience
  • Keep abreast of current innovations in turf grass management
  • Performs other related duties as required 
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
  • Must be 21 or older



  • 2 year Golf Course Turfgrass Management Certification or its equivalent is required.
  • Must have GCSAA status.
  • Must have state pesticide applicators license.
  • Must have valid driver’s license
