Job Description

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Requires a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience with Central Plant operations (or equivalent) and AAS in Refrigeration Technologies or Refrigeration Trade School certification, and an EPA Universal certificate in refrigerant handling.

POSITION SUMMARY: Requires experience with central plant operations or equivalent type equipment, including controls and Programming Logic Controller (PLC). Prerequisite trade school certification of completion or equivalent. Works under the direction of the HVAC/R Supervisor in the repair and maintenance of the HVAC/R systems. Must possess EPA Universal Certification as required by 40 CFR, part 28: sub part F, refrigerant handling and recovery. At the direction of the HVAC Supervisor will oversee the work of the HVAC worker. Must have valid Arizona driver license and cleared by the gaming center’s insurance carrier to drive company vehicles.

REPORTS TO: Maintenance HVAC/R Supervisor

Job Complexity:

Must be knowledgeable of repair methods in various maintenance duties. This includes plumbing and welding with a main emphasis on heating/cooling systems. Must be familiar with chillers, high temperature hot water boilers, air compressors, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, exhaust fans, electronic controls, electrical components, and must be able to work on with them with minimal direction. Must be able to work from drawings, verbal and written direction and recognize systems and equipment deficiencies and take corrective action. Experience with commercial refrigeration systems, including ice machines. Perform regular preventive maintenance duties on various systems. Must perform duties in a safe and efficient manner. Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Will perform other related duties as assigned/required within the limits of knowledge and experience of the employee. Will assist in maintenance projects at various other tribal enterprises as directed. Must be able to work in a casino (smoking) environment. Must be able to perform active physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and push or pull 100. Must be able to obtain and maintain State/Tribal License (including extensive background check). Must pass pre-employment drug test. Customer Service Requirements: Must strive to conduct oneself in a manner that reflects the values of the organization by following the “WeKoPa Way” when in the presences of fellow employees, casino and resort guests.

Accountability: Must exercise good judgment as errors could prove costly.
