Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES:

 

  • Responsible for providing a constant supply of clean linens for the entire hotel
  • Sorts linens for washer
  • Removes stains from badly soiled linen
  • May also be responsible for cleaning guests’ personal items 
  • Disposes off linen and terry properly
  • Operates washers and dryers properly as well as ensures that the correct chemicals (and amounts) are being used
  • Folds linens to hotel standards and keep stock organized in designated places
  • Washes bed wraps, duvets, mattress pads, and blankets in accordance with hotel standards
  • Keeps laundry neat and clean
  • Assists housekeepers in cleaning of the hotel
  • Assists with cleaning and up-keep of storage areas
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have a positive attitude and good  communication skills
  • Must be committed to providing customer service to the highest standards
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to follow directions both written and verbally
  • Must be able to communicate in English (read, write, speak)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse demographics
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment along with multi-tasking skills
  • Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending, lifting, sitting, and reaching
  • Ability to work in moderately noisy work environment for long periods of time and communicate effectively in this environment
  •  Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on occasion
  • Must be able to push or pull a minimum of 100 pounds
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

- High School Diploma or GED preferred

- Minimum one year experience in a housekeeping or laundry role required
