Job Summary:

Requires experience with central plant operations or equivalent type equipment, including controls and Programming Logic Controller (PLC). Works under the direction of the HVAC/R Supervisor in the repair and maintenance of the HVAC/R systems. At the direction of the HVAC Supervisor will oversee the work of the HVAC worker. Will assist in maintenance projects at various other tribal enterprises as directed, while demonstrating the We-Ko-Pa Way at all times.

Education and/or Experience:

Requires a minimum of eight (8) years' experience with Central Plant operations (or equivalent) and AAS in Refrigeration Technologies or Refrigeration Trade School certification, and an EPA Universal certificate in refrigerant handling. Prerequisite trade school certification of completion or equivalent. Must possess EPA Universal Certification as required by 40 CFR, part 28: sub part F, refrigerant handling and recovery.

Requirement/Duties:

  • Provides exceptional guest service to both external and internal guests by maintaining and exhibiting the Casino Resort We-Ko-Pa Way. (Smile and Greet, Name and Meet, Thank you and Goodbye)
  • Accountable to all standards set forth in the We-Ko-Pa Way Casino Resort Service Culture Guide.
  • Must be knowledgeable of repair methods in various maintenance duties. This includes plumbing and welding with a main emphasis on heating/cooling systems.
  • Must be familiar with chillers, high temperature hot water boilers, air compressors, pumps. cooling towers, air handler units, exhaust fans, electronic controls, electrical components, and must be able to work on them with minimal direction.
  • Must be able to work from drawings, verbal and written direction and recognize systems and equipment and deficiencies and take corrective action.
  • Experience with commercial refrigeration systems, including ice machines.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance duties on various systems and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must exercise good judgement as errors could prove costly.
  • Will perform other related duties as assigned/required within the limits of knowledge and experience of the employee.
  • Must have a valid Arizona driver's license and cleared by the gaming center's insurance carrier to drive company vehicles.
  • Must be able to perform active physical labor and lift in excess of 50 pounds and push or pull 100.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain State/Tribal License (including extensive background check).
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.
