General Purpose of Job

To assist in daily scheduling of jobs, staff training, chemical/fertilizer applications and irrigation. Perform daily inspection of the golf course grounds.  Direct and supervise maintenance staff members.  Daily communication with the Superintendent and Golf Shop staff. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the daily irrigation scheduling.
  2. Project a professional image at all times.
  3. Open communications are a must with all members of our organization.
  4. Maintain up-to-date, accurate records of all fertilizer and pesticide applications.
  5. Responsible for performing a daily inspection tour of the golf course and clubhouse grounds.
  6. Cooperate in performing any other duty deemed reasonable by the supervisor or manager.Additional Duties and Qualifications:

Additional Duties and Qualifications: 

  1. Assist the superintendent with hiring, performance evaluation, recognition and discipline of assigned staff.
  2. Working toward or have acquired an A.S. or B.S. in Agronomy or Turf Management.
  3. Must have GCSAA status and state pesticide applicators license. Must have valid driver’s license.
  4. Knowledge of golf course maintenance procedures/use/application of golf course pesticides/fertilizers.
  5. Maintain records and MSDS relating to the chemicals used on the golf course.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Will assist in the supervision of a Golf Course Maintenance Staff of approximately 30 members. The job requires the ability to work with and motivate a large staff.
