Job Description


Makes initial guest contact. Ensures proper flow in the restaurant and communicates with staff on floor. Anticipates guests needs and handles payments with the POS system.




Two (2) years of restaurant experience required. Minimum of 1 year of cash handling experience in a high volume restaurant.




  • Greets guests, escorts them to tables and provides menus.
  • Coordinates activities of dining room personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service to patrons.
  • Receives and processes all payment methods for restaurant guest checks, courteously and efficiently in the computer system and maintain accountability for all financial transactions.  
  • Settles all guest checks.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of point-of-sale and manual systems and procedures.
  • Abilities to input and access information into the point-of-sale system.
  • Obtains assigned bank and ensures accuracy and security of contracted monies. 
  • Set ups and organizes work station with designated supplies, forms and resource materials; maintain cleanliness at all times. 
  • Answers outlet telephone using correct salutations and telephone etiquette. 
  • Inspects dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness and requisitions table linens and other dining room supplies for tables and serving stations.
  • As a customer service professional, the cashier asks the patron if the meal was acceptable and assists with any last-minute service issues.
  • May prepare beverages and expedite food orders.
  • May collect payments from customers.
  • Must pass math exam.
  • Follows all cash handling procedures.
  • Must be knowledgeable on all health department regulations.
  • Must have valid food handler’s permit.
  • Must have valid title 4 training.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Must be able to lift in excess to 50 pounds and push or pull 100.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain State/Tribal License (including extensive background check).
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be 21 or older.




While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:


  1. Balance, bend, reach, stand 67-100% of work day.
  2. Hold/carry, stoop, twist and walk for 67-100% of work day.
  3. While working on casino floor, employee is exposed to high level of second hand smoke and noise daily.
